DUBLIN: More than 15,000 scheduled flights have been canceled in August due to the crisis at Europe’s airports, according to the latest data from the global flight airline analysis firm Citrium. A total of 25,378 services were canceled worldwide, of which 15,788 were in Europe. This is about 2 percent of the total number of air services in Europe in the month of August.

Staff shortages are the biggest crisis facing European airports. Apart from this, many airlines and airports have been hit by employee strikes demanding higher wages.
