Power outages leave thousands of households in the dark in Clare and Limerick

Limerick: A power outage has left hundreds of houses in Clare and Limerick without power. There are approximately 11,000 households and businesses without power. However, the cause of the power loss is still unknown.

At 7.30 p.m., 9,542 Clare customers lost power in the Ardnacrusha area. An ESB spokeswoman said work was being done to restore electricity, but hundreds of customers in Limerick and North Limerick City were also without power by the evening.

The representative underlined that the problem is unrelated to wind or weather and that these are routine occurrences. The officials advised us that power would be restored by the next morning.
