An official inquiry into the State’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic is set to be established in 2023: Prime Minister

Dublin: Ireland will conduct a thorough investigation into its handling of the COVID pandemic, according to Prime Minister Leo Varadkar. The prime minister also stated that the investigation system will be put in place this year. Varadkar said that the inquiry was not about pointing out flaws or assigning blame.

The investigation is being carried out in order to ascertain the truth. Try to figure out what happened. Examine what went well and what went wrong. It will also look into ways to improve it. COVID cannot be assumed to be the last pandemic. It is possible that terrible epidemics will continue. Varadkar also claimed that the investigation would have been terminated sooner.

As per Varadkar, the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. In addition to stating that COVID is not over in the country, Varadkar warned of the possibility of another serious epidemic. On February 29, 2020, the country’s first COVID case was confirmed. Then, until the end of December, 8,293 people had died.
