Countries in the European Union will impose more restrictions on their borders

Dublin: Countries in the European Union will introduce more restrictions at their borders. The number of people coming illegally from outside Europe into European countries is increasing, and there will be more restrictions at the borders.

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar has said that the number of people coming to Europe illegally is increasing exponentially and that Europeans should decide who comes to Europe, not people smugglers.

Immigration to the EU has been a debated political issue since 2015. Tightening border controls to deter illegal Asian and African immigrants is a hot topic.

In 2014, there were only 300 km of border across Europe, and by 2022, it had increased to 2000 km from Spain to Greece and Latvia. Australian Chancellor Karl Nehammer has stated that he accepts the strict border controls that will be implemented in Europe. Caritas, a Catholic charity, has urged EU leaders to improve asylum procedures and reception centres in order to protect human rights and dignity.
