The EU to proposes a €20 Billion Military Aid Package for Ukraine

The European Union is actively developing a new €20 billion military support package for Ukraine, spanning a five-year period. This proposal has been informally discussed with various member states, including the Irish government.

Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin revealed that he had informed the Cabinet about the impending proposal. He emphasised that Ireland’s contribution, if approved, would consist solely of non-lethal aid. It’s worth noting that Ireland has already provided €122 million in non-lethal military assistance to Ukraine.

Mr. Martin  told The Irish Times in New York that he would be announcing an additional €23 million in government aid for Ukraine at the United Nations in the upcoming days.
