Suryakumar Yadav to Lead India in Asia Cup 2025

New Delhi: Suryakumar Yadav has been named captain of India’s 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, to be held in the UAE from September 9–28, the BCCI announced on Tuesday. Test skipper Shubman Gill will serve as vice-captain.

The squad features top-ranked T20 batters Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, while Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh will spearhead the pace attack. Varun Chakravarthy leads the spin unit. All-rounders Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube and Axar Patel add depth to the side.

India open their campaign against hosts UAE on September 10 in Dubai, followed by a high-profile clash with Pakistan on September 14. Defending champions India, with a record eight Asia Cup titles, will use the tournament as their final multi-nation outing before the 2026 T20 World Cup.
