India registered a commanding 88-run victory over Pakistan in their Women’s World Cup 2025 encounter in Colombo, extending their unbeaten ODI record against Pakistan to 12-0.
Batting first, India set a target of 248 runs, led by Harleen Deol’s 46 and a quick-fire 35 off 20 balls from Richa Ghosh. In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 159, with Kranti Gaud starring with the ball, taking three wickets.
The match saw moments of drama, including a bizarre run-out of Pakistan opener Muneeba Ali and two brief halts due to an influx of bugs at the R Premadasa Stadium. Notably, captains Harmanpreet Kaur and Fatima Sana once again did not shake hands at the toss.
