India Crowned Women’s World Cup Champions!!!!

Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma produced outstanding all-round performances as India lifted their maiden ICC Women’s World Cup title, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final at Navi Mumbai on Sunday.

Batting first after being put in, India posted a commanding 298/7, powered by Shafali’s explosive 87 off 78 balls and Deepti’s composed 58 off 58. The duo anchored key partnerships that set the platform for a competitive total.

In response, South Africa fought hard through Laura Wolvaardt’s valiant century, but Deepti’s exceptional bowling spell of 5 for 39 and Shafali’s 2 for 36 sealed a historic win as the Proteas were bowled out for 246.

The triumph marks India’s first-ever Women’s World Cup title, exorcising the heartbreaks of 2005 and 2017, and capping off a golden chapter in Indian women’s cricket history.
