Virat Kohli shuts all criticism by achieving milestones in the 2nd T20I against England
Indian Captain Virat Kohli became the first international cricketer to record 3000 runs in T20I cricket. The milestone was achieved yesterday in the second T20 match against England in Ahmedabad.
The ‘Run-machine’ is right on top of the chart in T20 internationals, with 3001 runs from 86 matches at an average of 50.86. New Zealand opening batsman Martin Guptill is second with 2839 runs from 99 games at an average of 32.36. He is followed by Indian opener Rohit Sharma, who has 2773 runs from 108 matches at an average of 32.24.
The Indian captain also became the third captain in international cricket to score 12000 runs as a captain. He joined the elite list with former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and former South African captain Graeme Smith.
Virat Kohli also overtakes Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma to score the most 50 plus scores in T20I cricket. Kohli climbed to the top, slamming his 26th fifty with a six on Chris Jordan’s delivery.
India made a stunning 7-wicket victory against England in the second T20 yesterday. It was skipper Virat Kohli who registered a comprehensive victory for India with his cracking last ball six. Debutant Ishan Kishan’s fearless cricket was one of the major attractions of the match and the backbone of yesterday’s victory.
