An Indian woman was stabbed to death in Cork, Ireland

Cork: An Indian woman was stabbed to death in Wilton, Cork city. Deepa Dinamani (38), a Palakkad (Kerala) native, was killed.

The incident occurred last evening following an argument between the husband and wife at their home in Cardinal Court.

After 10 o’clock in the night, the emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving a signal of danger. They have a son. Initial information is that they were working as accountants in Cork.

The dead woman’s body is at the scene. The scene has been sealed off for technical inspection. Before transferring the body to Cork University Hospital, a team from the State Pathologist’s office will arrive on the scene and complete the tests.

Cork University Hospital will conduct a post-mortem examination.

“The people of Wilton woke up to terrible news today,” said Colm Kelleher, a local councillor. This has saddened the entire community, he said. Neighbours said they arrived at the Cardinal Court a few months ago.

The husband, a man in his forties, was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and is being questioned at Togher Garda Station. Gardaí have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Togher Garda Station on (021) 494 7120 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
