An Post Announces Christmas Posting Deadlines for 2023: “Urges Early Dispatch for Timely Arrival”

As the holiday season approaches in Ireland, An Post has released the crucial deadlines for sending cards, letters, gifts, and parcels to ensure they reach their destinations before December 25. Recognising the unprecedented global circumstances, An Post advises individuals to initiate their postal activities early.

For those sending items to an Irish address, the deadline is set for December 21. An Post emphasises that this date applies to all standard post letters, parcels, registered post, and express post.

Northern Ireland recipients should expect their Christmas cards and parcels by December 19, with the same requirements for standard post, parcels, registered post, and express post.

Sending Christmas mail to the UK has a cutoff date of December 18 for standard letters, parcels, registered post, and express post. The international/courier service to the UK, however, extends its final date to December 20.

For those reaching out to European countries, the recommended date for sending letters, registered post, and express post is December 18. Standard parcels should be dispatched by December 14. The final date for international/courier service in Europe is December 19.

Unfortunately, the deadline has passed for sending cards, letters, and packages outside of Europe by registered and express post. However, individuals can still utilise an international courier service until December 15 for gifts intended for arrival before Christmas.

An Post customers should be aware of a temporary pause in mail delivery and collection from December 23 to December 27. Normal operations are set to resume on December 28, just in time for the New Year festivities.
