Dublin: Bord Gáis and Pinergy have confirmed upcoming electricity price increases, citing higher network and wholesale energy costs.

Bord Gáis will raise electricity unit rates by 13.5% and standing charges by 12% from October 12, adding an average of €18.16 per month (€218 annually) to bills for 369,000 customers. Its gas prices remain unchanged.

Pinergy will increase prices by almost 10% from October 13, impacting 28,000 customers with annual bills rising by around €199.

The announcements follow Energia’s recent 12% hike, while Electric Ireland has pledged no electricity price rises this winter and introduced a 4% cut in gas prices.
