Boris Johnson announced lockdown in England till December 2

The lockdown was announced again in England until December 2 as the Covid expansion continued rise. The lockdown will take effect on Thursday.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said pubs, restaurants and non-essential shops will remain closed until December 2 and that domestic visits will be strictly prohibited during this period.

At the same time, schools and third-level institutes will remain open. The functioning of the manufacturing sector and court services will also continue.

People should not go out of the house except for essential work, education and food purchases. However, exercise is permitted.

As part of the second lockdown, the hairdressing center, parks and other tourist attractions will also be closed.

Minister said that the lockdown is being re-established in the country to capture the second wave of Covid and there was no alternative but to take drastic action.

Home gatherings should be avoided by all. However, unmarried families can interact with friends and loved ones through the bubble system.

Johnson, meanwhile, said the new national lockdown in England would extend paid leave by up to 80 per cent.

Elite Sport will remain part of the new restrictions, but amateur sport will be banned.

The Prime Minister’s announcement of the lock-down came after the latest figures on Covid cases across England became available.

As of October 23, 568,100 people in the country were infected with Covid, according to the National Statistics Office.

In addition, the total number of Covid cases in the UK crossed one million on Saturday.

According to the latest figures, Covid has so far been confirmed in 1,011,660 people along with 46,555 deaths.

At the same time, Johnson warns that a second lockdown could adversely affect the country’s economy.

However, members of the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergency (SEZ) have come out in support of taking more drastic measures.
