Boy – 5 dies in quad bike accident in Kerry
West Kerry County is still in shock following the terrible loss of a five-year-old kid in a quad bike accident on Sunday afternoon. The incident happened on private land near Castlegregory.
The child is believed to have returned from the United Kingdom with his immediate family to visit close relatives in the region for the August Bank Holiday weekend.
As soon as the alarm was raised, the Gardaí and emergency services hurried to the area. Sadly, the child died from his injuries a short time later.
An Garda spokeswoman stated that a family liaison officer has been appointed to assist the family at this time.
Garda also appealed for the family to be given privacy in a statement released to The Kerryman. “Garda Sochána requests that the media respect the privacy of the family at this time and report on this incident sensitively.”
“No further information is being made available at this time.”
