British PM Boris Johnson will be chief guest of the Indian Republic Day Parade

The UK has confirmed that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be the chief guest at the 2021 Republic Day Parade in India.

Boris Johnson has accepted India’s invitation and will be the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said. Mr. Rabb made the remarks during a meeting with visiting External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Foreign Secretary also said he was glad that Boris Johnson had invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G7 summit next year to be hosted by the UK.

Boris Johnson was officially invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a telephone conversation on November 27.

John Major was the last British Prime Minister to host the Republic Day Parade in 1993, 28 years ago.
