BUDGET 2021: Minister Paschal Donohoe promotes work from home

DUBLIN: Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe said in his budget speech that he is encouraging work from home in the context of COVID-19 spread.

The minister also said that remote working or work from home is the main approach as part of Covid defense. Therefore, the government will come up with a new plan for remote working and remote delivery.

Currently, an inter-departmental group has already been formed to promote remote working, the minister said.

Meanwhile, he said those working from home could receive additional benefits of up to €3.20.

The worker can claim tax deduction for utility expenses if he does not receive benefits from the employer.
