Comprehensive win for England against India in the first T20 match

England defeated India by eight wickets in the first T20 of the five-match series.

It was a humiliating defeat for the Indian team in Ahmedabad after England dominated all three departments – batting, bowling and fielding.

After losing the toss, India came out to bat and was only able to score 124 for 7 in 20 overs.

India’s top order completely failed yesterday as they were able to score just five runs! Openers Shikhar Dhawan (4), KL Rahul (1) and skipper Virat Kohli (0) failed to give a good start for the team.

Except Shreyas Iyer, who scored a brilliant half century (67), all other batsmen failed to score. It was Jofra Archer, who was just outstanding with the ball, put pressure on the Indian batsmen from the start of the match by picking up the wicket of India’s No. 1 T20 batsman, KL Rahul. The England pacer was awarded the Player of the match for his spectacular 3 wickets.

Chasing a lower total was not a great deal for the best international T20 team in the world. The visitors surpassed that target by losing just 2 wickets in 15.3 overs. (Jason Roy 49; Washington Sundar 1/10, Yuzvendra Chahal 1/44).

The next match will take place tomorrow at 7 pm (Indian time) in the same venue.

Indian fans are hoping India will surely bounce back as there are four more matches left in the series.
