Dublin Airport says busiest weekend; Authorities are warning people to be cautious

Dublin: Dublin Airport will be extremely busy in the coming days. Authorities are warning people to be cautious during the bank holiday weekend due to the winter time change. The airport authorities have issued this reminder in light of the one-hour time change on Saturday night. The DAA also advised checking the terminal from which the flight is departing.

3,500,000 passengers have passed through the airport.

According to Graeme McQueen, media relations manager, 3,50,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport. In four days, approximately 1,90,000 people will depart from the airport. Over 2,200 flights are expected to land.

The busiest day of the weekend will be Friday, with an average of 87,000 passengers arriving at the airport each day over the next four days. According to him, passenger traffic was 56% higher than the same weekend last year and 90% higher than the October Bank Holiday weekend in 2019.

Passenger safety instructions

From Terminal Two, Aer Lingus, Emirates, Delta, United Airlines, and American Airlines will operate from there. All other airlines operate from Terminal 1. Short-haul passengers should arrive at the airport at least two hours before their departure.

The spokesperson advised long-haul travellers to arrive at the terminal building at least three hours early. Arrive an hour early if you have a bag check-in at the airport. If travelling with children, use the family lines in the security screening area. Download the Dublin Airport app.

It displays flight arrival and departure times as well as the estimated time required to pass through security screening areas.

Cork will also be very busy.

At the same time, Acting Managing Director Roy O’Driscoll said that the weekend would be very busy. Taking this into consideration, O’Driscoll advises passengers to arrive at least two hours before the flight’s departure time, and to arrive earlier if they are checking in their bags at the airport.
