Dublin Marathon 2023 winner sets new records….

Ethiopia’s Kemal Husan, a 20-year-old running in only his second-ever marathon, achieved a remarkable feat in the Dublin Marathon. He set a new record by completing the 42.2-kilometre race in an astonishing 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 52 seconds on Sunday, October 29.

Husan’s performance not only secured the Dublin Marathon title but also earned him the coveted top prize of €12,000. In doing so, he shattered the previous record of 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 6 seconds, which had been held by Morocco’s Othmane El Goumri since 2019.

The runner-up in the event was Uganda’s Geofrey Kusuro, who crossed the finish line with a time of 2 hours and 10 minutes, while Ireland’s Stephen Scullion claimed the third spot with a time of 2 hours and 11 minutes.

On the women’s side, Ethiopia’s Amente Sorome Negash secured the top position in the Dublin Marathon with an impressive time of 2 hours, 26 minutes, and 22 seconds. She was followed by Kenya’s Joan Kipyatich (2 hours, 27 minutes, and 4 seconds) and Ethiopia’s Genet Abdurkadir (2 hours, 27 minutes, and 49 seconds).

Stephen Scullion and Ann Marie McGlynn, both top Irish finishers, clinched the 2023 National Marathon Championship titles, held in conjunction with the Irish Life Dublin Marathon.
