Dublin Riot: A 50-Year-Old Man Arrested in Remand 

Dublin: Riad Bouchaker, a 50-year-old individual arrested in connection with the Parnell Square child attack and subsequent riot, has been remanded. The charges include the attempted murder of three children and assaulting a crèche worker. The Dublin District Court, presided over by Judge Brian Smith, facilitated the proceedings with the assistance of an Arabic interpreter. The defendant has been remanded to appear at Cloverhill District Court via video link on December 28.

The incident occurred on November 23, when three children were stabbed, resulting in the tragic deaths of two girls and injuries to a boy. A five-year-old girl remains in critical condition, while two other children have been discharged. Leanne Flynn Keogh, a crèche worker, was also seriously injured during the incident at Gaelscoil, Parnell Square.

The shocking attack led to widespread unrest in Dublin, marked by incidents of looting and disorder. Over 40 individuals were apprehended in connection with the unrest, and charges have been filed against 30 of them. Court proceedings are underway with heightened security measures in place.
