DUBLIN: The Finglas Cricket Club in Dublin is turning cricket into a youth charm.
Just three years ago, when so many kids came together to learn the basic lessons of cricket, the organisers were unaware that they were going to nurture future promises.
It was an amazing sight to see later. In the first phase itself, about 60 people flocked to ‘learn’ cricket. There is no other community in Ireland that train cricket so professionally and sincerely!
The Finglas Cricket Club has another line of seniors, including the team that won the Leinster League Championship in Division 14. Finglas has an Indian troop of around 100 players in six different teams.
The Finglas Cricket Club is home to a number of emerging talents, including Reuben Mathew, who played for the first time in the Cubs and Minor Junior divisions of Cricket Leinster’s Youth Division.
The club paid special honours to the junior team members who performed well last year.
The team included Reuben Mathew – (Player of the Year), Noble George – (Best Batsman Award), Ronn Mathew – (Best bowler Award), Roshan Praveen (Most improved player Award), Advik Chetan (most improved player award), Krish Kingkumar – (Best fielder Award).
