France honors foreign health professionals, including nurses, by granting them citizenship

Paris: France honors foreign health workers, including nurses, with citizenship in recognition of the great service rendered during the Covid era.

The French government has granted expeditious citizenship to hundreds of foreign health workers, cleaners and shop workers who have excelled in Covid prevention over the past ten months.

The French Interior Ministry has invited applications from foreigners who have worked with the government to combat the Covid epidemic.

Of these, the government is currently completing the citizenship process for more than 700 eligible applicants for expeditious citizenship.

The French government announced the citizenship scheme last September. As part of this, 74 people have so far been issued French passports.

Meanwhile, the citizenship process for 693 people is in progress. A total of 2,890 people applied for citizenship as part of the scheme.
