Good news for those waiting for nursing registration decision letter in Ireland; decision may come soon!
DUBLIN: Good news for those who have applied to NMBI, the Nursing Registration Authority of Ireland, and are waiting for a decision letter.
The NMBI has intensified its efforts in the hope that the decision letter will be issued by the end of April to the maximum number of people who have now applied for nursing registration.
Many people have received the decision letter since last week. Verification is also underway in the order in which the application was received.
The NMBI had postponed thousands of registration applications since last September, which could not be processed due to the COVID-19 crisis and staff shortages.
It is learned that at least 3,000 Kerala nurses are waiting for a decision letter after applying for nursing registration in Ireland. Various WhatsApp groups alone have about 2,000 members, including those who have already come to study in Ireland and are looking for a job abroad after completing a nursing course in India.
Although many had previously received a decision letter, they could not use it because they were unable to travel to Ireland as a result of the COVID pandemic. The validity of the decision letters of such persons was extended indefinitely last month. However, the NMBI said in a statement that it had the right to terminate the extension at any time.
Government-recognized recruitment agents are likely to conduct more recruitments in the coming months for those from India. It is learned that HSE has entered into agreements with various nursing recruitment agencies.
