ICU admissions rise in Ireland as COVID checks tighten again

Dublin: Ireland, like the rest of the world, is suffering from COVID-19 and ICU admissions. This is extremely concerning. While 703 people were admitted to the hospital due to COVID, 32 of them required ICU care.

The HSE believes that the number of cases will shoot up during the Christmas and New Year holidays. On the last day, 656 people visited the hospital. In one day, 47 patients were seen. As of December 23, 667 people were infected with COVID and sought treatment in the hospital.

To prevent the spread of the disease, travel should be limited in the days leading up to Christmas, and people with flu-like symptoms should stay at home. Prof. Breda Smith, chief medical officer, made an appeal to the public. This appeal was made in response to the growing number of COVID patients.
