India won the Intercontinental Cup by defeating Lebanon 2-0

India won the Intercontinental Cup after defeating a youthful Lebanon team by two goals in the second half at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Sunil Chhetri’s 46th-minute goal broke the tie, and Lallianzuala Chhangte’s 66th-minute goal made it 2-0 as India defeated Lebanon for the first time since 1977.

India dominated possession in the first half, holding 57%. The deadlock was broken in the opening minute of the second half, with Lallianzuala Chhangte assisting Sunil Chhetri. In the 66th minute, Chhangte scored as India extended their lead. This was also the Indian team’s sixth consecutive clean sheet, tying a 1952 record.
