The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team finished second in the 4 Nations Tournament in Dusseldorf after losing 1-6 to the hosts, Germany, in the final on Tuesday.
Sudeep Chirmako (22′) scored India’s lone goal. Florian Sperling (15′), Ben Hasbach (20′), Hugo von Montgelas (23′), Fabio Seitz (38′), Nikas Berendts (41′), and Paul Glander (43) scored for Germany.
India began with confidence following a 4-0 victory over England in their last encounter. Germany, which had won all of its prior games in the tournament, began to pose challenges to India’s defensive forces very quickly.
Germany played strong defence in its own half and held on to win the match 6-1.
