Ireland set to get a permanent cricket stadium in the Sport Ireland campus in Abbotstown, Dublin

Dublin: To strengthen Ireland’s cricket, a permanent cricket stadium is being prepared in Abbotstown, Dublin. Lacking a permanent stadium, Ireland’s men’s and women’s teams play their home matches at club grounds in Dublin, Belfast, and Derry.

The stadium is expected to be completed in time for the 2030 T20 World Cup. Ireland, England, and Scotland will jointly host this match. However, the stadium’s capacity has yet to be determined.

Two Twenty20 matches were played at the Malahide Cricket Club Stadium in Dublin last June. Over 10,000 cricket fans attended the match between India and Ireland. This is Ireland’s second cricket stadium. Cricket Ireland’s state-of-the-art training centre is already operational at Abbotstown in Fungal Castleknock.
