Dublin: Irish Life Health will raise its health insurance premiums by an average of 5% from January 1, 2026, affecting customers upon renewal. Mid-contract policyholders will not see changes until their renewal date.
This marks the insurer’s fourth increase in a year, following hikes of 3.7% in January, 2% in April, and 3% in October—leaving some family plans more than €250 costlier annually.
The Health Insurance Authority (HIA) urged consumers to review their policies and shop around for better value. HIA Chief Executive Brian Lee stressed the importance of informed decision-making and encouraged people to reassess their plans each year using the regulator’s comparison tool.
Consumers can switch plans at renewal and access comparison tools and support via the HIA website or customer helpline.
