“Jasmine Gerhardt Takes the Crown as Miss Ireland 2023”

Miss Ireland, Jasmine Gerhardt, expressed her joy at being crowned the winner, describing it as an “out of body experience.” The 25-year-old law graduate from Dublin won the title at the 76th Miss Ireland event held in the city. Glenn Williamson, a 28-year-old from Cork, secured the title of Mr. Ireland.

Jasmine, who had entered the competition three times, shared her feelings after the win, stating that it all felt surreal. Her journey began at the age of 17 when she first entered the competition, and she finished as the runner-up in the previous year’s event.

Reflecting on her persistence, Jasmine emphasised the importance of pursuing one’s dreams despite setbacks. She credited her family, particularly her mother, Sharon, a former Miss Ireland contestant, for their support throughout her journey.

Jasmine’s aspiration as Miss Ireland is to promote the value of education and to demonstrate that beauty and intelligence can go hand in hand. She looks up to Amal Clooney as her inspiration and hopes to make a meaningful impact, much like her role model. Having previously worked with a hedge fund in Dubai, Jasmine’s future goal is to work for the United Nations, advocating for women’s rights and shining a light on the experiences of women in developing nations. She sees her title as a platform for creating positive change.
