Dublin: Lidl is planning to invest €200 million in a new regional distribution centre in Wallingstown, Little Island, Cork, to enhance its logistics in the south and southeast as part of its expansion strategy.

Tara O’Connor, Lidl Ireland’s Regional Managing Director for Munster, emphasised the importance of the new facility to support the company’s growing store footprint in the region over the next five years. Lidl currently operates three distribution centres in Charleville, Mullingar, and Newbridge, servicing 180 stores nationwide. If approved, the Cork facility is expected to open by 2030.
