‘Moothon’ Marked its Presence at 20th NYIFF; Won Three Awards

Mollywood movie, ‘Moothon’ was awarded for the Best Film, Best Actor and Best Child Actor at New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) on August 3,2020. Being nominated in four categories, the film was about to bag awards from three categories.

The movie won the best film award, while the actors Nivin Pauly and Sanjana Dipu won categories of the best actor and the best child artist respectively.

Moothon is a 2019 action thriller movie written and directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival and received a positive critical response.

The film is centered around the life of a 14-year-old, who travels to Mumbai from Lakshadweep in search of her elder brother but get lost in the city.

Many famous personalities in and out of film industry congratulated the team for their great achievement.

The award will be a huge boost up to the entire caste and crew of the movie and also an encouragement to the debutant actress Sanjana Dipu who won the award for the best child artist.

Tailing Pond won the award for the best documentary, Son Rise for the Best Feature Documentary and the Best Screenplay award was bagged by Knock Knock Knock. Were the other winners of the 20th New York Indian Film Festival.
