Multiple Flights diverted after suspected drone spotted near runway, Dublin

Dublin: Four flights scheduled to land at Dublin Airport have been rerouted due to technical issues. After a drone was spotted at Dublin Airport yesterday evening, four flights scheduled to land there were diverted to Belfast and Shannon.

The Airport Authority stated in a statement that a “drone sighting” on the airfield of Dublin Airport suspended services for 10 minutes and that the use of drones in airports is a violation of the law and that more attention should be paid.

This comes as nearly three lakh passengers travel during the bank holiday weekend. Passengers are advised to prepare for security and arrive early at the airport. Because parking at the Red Card Park has sold out, the Dublin Airport Authority has advised passengers to take a taxi or public transportation to and from the airport.
