‘Nurse on Call’ employs thousands of nurses to administer COVID vaccine

DUBLIN: ‘Nurse on Call’, Ireland’s largest agency employing nurses, hires 1,000 nurses to help deliver HSE’s COVID-19 vaccines to the general public.

Nurse on Call has already sent emails to all nurses in its database looking for people who can work at least two 12-hour shifts a week. The company said it would recruit 1,000 people in a project to distribute COVID-19 vaccines.

Nursing staff are employed to provide vaccination at eight major vaccination hubs in Cork, Dublin, Waterford, Sligo, Galway and Limerick, as well as in large hospitals and hotels such as City West.

Minor hubs will be set up in Clonmel, Tralee, Bantry, Nenagh, Ennis, Longford, and Mullingar, the health department said. Vaccination hubs are planned to operate seven days a week from 8 am to 8 pm.
