Online forms available in coming weeks to apply for Digital COVID Certificates

DUBLIN: The Department of Health has said that new online forms for applying for Digital COVID Certificates (DCC) will be available in the coming weeks. It comes in response to continuous complaints from members of the public who are unable to reach the Helpline.

The government has set up a helpline for those who are having issues with their DCC or who have recovered from COVID-19 and want a Recovery Certificate.

There have been several complaints about the helpline not giving adequate information, being put on hold for hours, and being disconnected before their call is answered.

The department has already admitted that it can only handle about 7% of the tens of thousands of calls it receives. However, department officials said that they are constantly trying to enhance the service.

“We will also launch additional online forms and automation in the coming weeks to make this service more accessible for the public,” it said.

Vaccination certificates or the DCC are now required for both indoor hospitality and international travel in Ireland.

An online portal was recently opened by the Department of Health to obtain a Recovery Certificate without contacting the helpline.
