Pakistan’s ex Prime minister Imran Khan, has survived a gun attack

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was wounded when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a protest march in Pakistan. In Pakistan’s Punjab region, shots were fired at a container-mounted truck carrying Imran Khan. According to local media, Mr. Khan is out of danger. Imran Khan led a protest march to Islamabad, calling for early elections.

After bullets were fired, chaotic events erupted outside Imran Khan’s welcoming camp at Allahwala Chowk in Gujranwala, according to local broadcaster Geo News. It was reported that numerous people were hurt.

The tragedy, which occurred roughly 200 kilometres from Islamabad, brought up frightening memories of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination during a rally in 2007.

In a tweet, Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi called the attack on Imran Khan a “heinous assassination attempt”.
