Pharma Company with 240 jobs in Meath

MSD, a pharmaceutical company, has about 240 new jobs in Meath.

The company is preparing to build a new manufacturing facility in addition to the recently acquired Biologics plant in Dunbone.

The company said it would create 140 jobs here by 2025 and 100 jobs at the existing plant next year.

MSD Executive Vice President Sanath Chattopadhyay said the new manufacturing facility would be a big step forward for the company and it would help the company deliver medicines to the needy as soon as possible.

The US-based company estimates that construction of the new buildings will be completed and production will begin by 2023. Last August, MSD announced the acquisition of the Dunbone Underdeveloped Biology Glass plant from Takeda.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said the 240 new jobs in the pharma sector would be a huge boon for Meath.

The company, which has been operating in Ireland for over 50 years, has six manufacturing facilities across the country. The company has more than 2,700 employees.

IDA leader Martin Shannon said the company’s decision would help develop County Meath. He added that the 240 additional jobs created at the Dunboin Biology Classes camp will help boost the local economy.
