Restrictions in Ireland eased further from today; see the latest changes here…
DUBLIN: COVID-19 restrictions in Ireland have been further eased from today as part of the Government’s plan to reopen society for summer activities. The latest phase of easing restrictions began on June 2 and will continue until August. And today, June 7, saw the next stage of easing in this month, with more people able to attend outdoor events and pubs and restaurants resuming outdoor services.
The changes effective from today are:
● Restaurants and bars have resumed outdoor services from today, following all public health measures and guidelines.
● The maximum number of people allowed for organised outdoor gatherings has been increased to 100 for small venues, and to 200 for venues with a minimum capacity of 5,000.
● Two household are permitted to gather regardless of vaccination status.
● Movie theaters started operating today, with only a limited number of seats open to spectators. Drive-in cinemas and drive-in bingo events are also allowed to restart operations from today.
● Gyms, leisure centers and swimming pools were opened for individual training only. Outdoor amusements such as theme parks and funfairs have also been resumed activities.
● Up to 25 guests can attend a wedding celebration or reception.
● Driver theory test services have been partially resumed from today. The plan is to conduct 25,000 tests per month.
A few concerts are scheduled to take place in the coming days. An outdoor concert will be held on June 10 at the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin for 500 guests.
The outdoor music festival will take place on June 26 at Phoenix Park, with a maximum of 3,500 people. There will be two test concerts outside of Dublin, one in June at the INEC Club in Killarney and the other on June 23rd at the University Limerick Concert Hall.
Outdoor sports will also resume in the following days, with fans permitted to enter the venue. Leinster v Dragons match at the RDS on June 11th, the LOI Shamrock Rovers v Finn Harps match on June 11th and the League of Ireland Cork City v Cabinteely match on the same date.
Racing events will be held in Curragh at the end of June. The Camogie league final on June 20th in Croke park and the Shamrock Rovers vs Drogheda match on June 26th. Fans can also attend the Morton Stadium National Athletics Championships on June 26th. The attendance at these matches is limited to a maximum of 200 people at venues that can accommodate 5,000 or more people.
