Ryanair Announces Four New Routes from Shannon Airport as Part of €400 Million Expansion

Galway: Ryanair has announced plans to launch four new routes from Shannon Airport to Rome, Warsaw, Poznań, and Madrid, as part of a $400 million (€370 million) investment to expand its Irish operations. The airline also confirmed that a fourth aircraft will be based at Shannon from the summer of 2026 to support the growing network.

Flights to Rome and Poznań will commence on March 31, 2026, operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The year-round Madrid service will shift to Wednesdays and Sundays for the summer schedule starting the same day. Meanwhile, flights to Warsaw will begin on March 30, with four weekly departures on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

In addition to the new destinations, Ryanair will also increase frequencies on five existing routes next summer — Manchester, Alicante, Barcelona-Reus, Lanzarote, and Malta — reflecting strong passenger demand.

These additions will bring Ryanair’s total network from Shannon Airport to 30 routes next summer — the largest schedule ever operated by the airline from the airport. Ryanair expects to offer 1.4 million seats, including 180,000 during the summer season, representing a 15% year-on-year increase.

Ray O’Driscoll, Interim CEO of the Shannon Airport Group, said the expansion demonstrates Ryanair’s strong confidence in Shannon’s growth potential.

Jason McGuinness, Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer, added that the announcement underscores the airline’s long-term commitment to strengthening regional connectivity.
