Samsung ‘unfolds’ the all new Galaxy Z Fold2 5D folding smartphone

After the Galaxy Fold, the tech giant Samsung has brought out their latest generation of folding smartphone with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G. The phone will be available in the Irish stores later this month.

Compared to the previous model the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G is 12% bigger with a 6.2- inch cover screen when folded and a 7.6-inch main screen on the back when opened out.

The Galaxy Z Fold2 5G will be available in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze from at the price of €2,099 from September 18, with pre-orders already started from September 1, 2020.

The new model has a good refresh rate of 120Hz for smooth scrolling, streaming and gameplay as well as small bezels. The smartphone has a notch-less front camera to maximize the display.

The main screen of the phone is made with Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Glass for durability when folding and then hingers are also fitted into the device body.

Samsung Electronics corporate VP for the UK & Ireland Conor Pierce said that the journey to reach the next generation of smartphones is full of originality and innovation.

‘With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, we listened closely to customer’s feedback to ensure we were bringing meaningful improvements to the device, while also developing new innovations to enhance the user experience. He said.

He added ‘Further strengthened by our industry-leading partnerships with Google and Microsoft, we’re reshaping and redefining the possibilities of the mobile device experience.’

The Fold2 has two selfie cameras of each 10 MP and a rear triple camera consisting of ultra-wide camera, wide-angle camera and telephoto camera- all 12 MP.

The device has 12GB of RAM with 256GB internal storage, a 4,500mAh dual battery as well as super-fast wired charging and fast wireless charging.
