Sania Mirza’s LAST DANCE……. at 2023 Australian Open

On Wednesday, January 25, Sania Mirza was emotionally moved during the finish of the first semi-finals of the mixed doubles at the 2023 Australian Open in Melbourne. The tennis superstar from Hyderabad, India, stated that reaching the final of her final Grand Slam alongside his good buddy Rohan Bopanna is pretty special. “It was an incredible contest with a lot of tension.” It’s my final slam, and it’s an honour to play with Rohan. “He was my first mixed doubles partner when I was 14 years old, and now that I’m 36 and he’s 42, we’re still playing and have a good connection,” Sania stated after the game.

The two teams battled neck and neck in the opening set at Melbourne Park’s Margaret Court Arena, with neither team dropping a single serve. Mirza and Bopanna took the lead after outlasting their opponents 7-5 in the tiebreaker.

In the second set, the Indian duo jumped off to an early lead, breaking Skupski’s serve in the first game. After breaking Bopanna’s and Sania’s serves in the sixth and eighth games, respectively, the British-American duo levelled the match.

The Indians seized on their previous experience to secure three more break points of their own.

The Indian duo had a match-point opportunity with Sania serving for the match in the 12th game but squandered it as Krawczyk and Skupski came back to force a tiebreak for the second set.

The match was then decided in a super tiebreaker by Krawczyk and Skupski. The Indian pair recovered brilliantly from the disappointing end of the second set to win the super tiebreaker 10-6.
