Sinn Féin Reclaims Lead in Latest Opinion Poll
Dublin: Sinn Féin has regained its status as the most popular political party in Ireland, securing 26% support in the latest Irish Times/Ipsos poll—a six-point increase. This marks a significant shift following the formation of the new government.
Fine Gael has dropped three points to 16%, its lowest rating since 1994, while Fianna Fáil holds steady at 22%. The Social Democrats are at 7%, and Labour trails at 5%.
On leadership approval, Micheál Martin remains the most popular with a 45% satisfaction rating. Taoiseach Simon Harris follows at 42%, down four points, while Mary Lou McDonald of Sinn Féin climbs six points to 37%.
Public sentiment toward the Coalition remains tepid: only 39% are satisfied with the government’s performance, while 51% express dissatisfaction. Additionally, 64% of voters opposed the Coalition’s deal with Independent TD Michael Lowry.
