DUBLIN: Met Eireann has issued a status yellow high temperature warning for Ireland as temperatures are expected to reach 32 degrees. Normal daytime temperature ranges from 25 to 30 degrees.
The warning will be in effect from 6am on Sunday and last until 9pm on Tuesday, with highs expected to reach 32 degrees on Monday. Met Éireann says evenings will be also remain hot, with temperatures overnight of between 15 and 20 degrees.
People are being urged to be aware of heat stress – especially more vulnerable people – and the high risk of water-related incidents.
Earlier this week Met Éireann issued an advisory warning of the risk of high temperatures, particularly this weekend. The warning comes as Europe is experiencing a heatwave, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s in parts of Spain for the second day in a row.
