Taoiseach Leo Varadkar unveils Ongar Cricket Club Jersey in Ireland

Ongar Cricket Club has officially unveiled their new jerseys for Leinster League and T20 competitions for their first ever season on 1st April,2023 in presence of over 250 supporters. The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Cricket Leinster President Mr. Pat Banahan, Dept. of Children and Youth Affairs Minister Roderick O’Gorman, Senator Emer Currie, Councillor Kieran Dennison, Cricket development officer Brian O’Rourke, Department of the Environment, Climate & Communications Minister Jack Chambers and Councillor Tom Kitt were present to grace the event.

Chairman of the Club Arun Katheri welcomed and thanked everyone for their presence with a brief welcome speech, this was followed by all the dignitaries giving speech about the upcoming club and wishing good luck for their season.

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar revealed the official Jersey by a remote-controlled curtain opener with a countdown of 10, the prominent colour of the T20 Jersey is yellow. All the dignitaries signed on the newly unveiled Jerseys.

The Taoiseach presented momentos to all the sponsors of the club followed by CL President Pat handing over momentos to all the dignitaries including the Taoiseach.

Pat Banahan and Minister Roderick O’Gorman handed over hats and Jerseys to the players of the Club which was followed by photoshoot of the club members with all the dignitaries in the newly unveiled Jerseys.

At end of the event, All the dignitaries were involved in some fun cricket where they batted and was bowled by cricket development officer Brian O’Rourke. This brought lot of cheer at the venue.

Last but not the least, Ongar cricket Club thanked all the dignitaries, Sponsors, fellow clubs and support for making the event a grand success.
