The strike announced by the water supply employees has been called off

Dublin: Water authority employees in Ireland, whose strike was scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 7, have called off their planned strike. The employees decided to call off the strike following discussions held with the Siptu Trade Union and the government.

Siptu has stated that it has agreed to the employees’ demands for changes such as overtime, conditions, and allowances.

The dispute over the transfer of a group of local authority employees to Irish Water was also settled. Minister Dara O’Brien assured the workers that all their earnings would be protected when they joined Irish Water.
