Dublin: A fire broke out again in the factory building in Coolock, where anti-immigration protests are ongoing. This is the third fire that the Dublin Fire Brigade has dealt with in two days. The fire erupted at eight o’clock last night, prompting two units from the Dublin Fire Brigade to rush to the scene.
Local residents are protesting against the government’s decision to accommodate International Protection Applicants (IPAs) at the site. The former Crown Paints factory is set to be redeveloped into a refugee centre, sparking significant local opposition. Fires were previously reported at the site on Monday and Thursday. A Garda investigation into the incidents is currently underway.
