Water Supply Disruption Affects Hundreds of Homes in Tallaght Area

Dublin: Residents in the Tallaght area are grappling with a significant water supply issue as a burst pipe has disrupted drinking water access for hundreds of households. The water authorities have confirmed that over a thousand houses are impacted by the burst in the main pipe.

Assurances have been made by the water company regarding ongoing efforts to swiftly restore the water supply, but a return to normalcy may take some time. Particularly challenging is the restoration of potable water to higher-elevation areas, prolonging the overall recovery process.

In response to the situation, water will be directly supplied to homes and businesses in the affected zone. Stephen Burke, the company’s regional operations manager, emphasised the expeditious nature of repair work, urging residents to use water judiciously to preserve reservoir levels. He advised closing water taps when not in use and suggested the use of a can instead of a hose for garden watering.

Acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the unexpected failure, the company issued an apology to customers and remains committed to resolving the issue promptly.
