Weather Updates: Ireland will be spared from the bitter cold for a few days

DUBLIN – The Met Office has predicted that Ireland will be spared from the bitter cold for a few days. The temperature will remain low today, but there will be a change beginning tomorrow.

Across the country, a Status Yellow Ice Warning is in effect until midday today. The Met Office warns that snow on roads and footpaths could create hazardous travel conditions. Many parts of the country will see snow and sleet this morning.

Meteorologists predict that the winter rains will continue, with very cold rains possible in the southwest.

Northern Ireland has also been issued a snow warning by the UK Met Office, which will be in effect until midday.

Temperatures will begin to rise after Thursday, bringing the possibility of showers, according to the Met Office.
