Wendy’s to Open First Irish Restaurant in Cork

Dublin: American fast-food giant Wendy’s will launch its first Irish outlet this October at Mahon Point Shopping Centre, Cork, creating 50 new jobs.

The opening is part of a franchise partnership with Corrib Oil, announced last year. Recruitment for the new roles is already underway.

Corrib Brands MD Michael Dalton said the launch marks a “major milestone” in the partnership, while Michael Clarke, Wendy’s Europe MD, described Ireland as “a great market for long-term growth.”

Mahon Point centre director Justin Young welcomed the announcement, highlighting the benefits for local employment and customers eager to experience Wendy’s signature menu.

The launch follows news of Taco Bell’s upcoming arrival in Meath next month.
