DUBLIN: Gardai opened an investigation into the murder of a young man in a series of shootings in Ballymun on Thursday night. A man between the ages of 40 and 50 was killed in a shooting at the Ballymun Belclare Terrace in Dublin around 9pm on Thursday.
Gardai confirmed that the young man who had been critically injured in the attack had died on the scene. The Garda Technical Bureau will carry out an examination of the scene today. The spot is under the surveillance of the Garda.
Anyone with information about the shooting is advised to contact the Ballymun Garda Station. In particular, people who were present between 8pm and 9.15pm on Thursday night at Belclare Terrace and Belclare Park should come forward.
Gardai said those with camera footage of the incident should hand it over. Also, anyone with information about the incident is advised to call 01 666 4400 or the Garda intelligence line at 1800 666 111 or to contact any Garda station immediately.
