NMBI makes intensive efforts to reduce delays in processing applications from overseas applicants

DUBLIN: The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland apologised for the delay in processing applications from overseas applicants. The board said it is currently dealing with a high volume of applications for registration.

The board stated on its website that it recognises the urgency in processing and progressing all applications. It also noted that due to the delays, they are unable to meet the standards of customer service to some applicants. However, the statement said that intense efforts have been made to expedite the processing of applications.

The NMBI team is working to reduce processing time. The NMBI has now assigned additional resources to the processing of overseas applications, which should help improve the situation.

A guide for applicants is available on the website and in the online application system (MyNMBI). This guide describes in detail the documents to be submitted with the application. Possess the required documentation will assist them process your application.

An applicant will be contacted by a member of their team to provide an update on your application. However, as they are receiving very high volumes of email traffic, the board also urged applicants to bear with the NMBI officials. “In order to allow us focus on processing cases we would ask that, if possible, you only email when providing additional information or clarifications,” the website wrote.

Thousands of applicants from India alone are awaiting the Nursing Decision Letter. Several centres had asked the board to expedite the procedure, since more recruitments are expected to commence in the coming months.
